The Big Six: Gothic hotels
In this post, I referred to a new, massive book on Gothic culture, Schillerndes Dunkel, which features my work from BlackWaterFall.com in addition to my own original writing. This book was released at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Germany and is now available for purchase.

They look a a cross between Furry and Goth to me…could this be another potential Goth Type?? Watch this space!

Trellia’s comment: It’s stories like this that make me feel so grateful to live in a society where I have the right to dress how I choose (both in the UK and Japan). Those of us who embrace alternative dress and lifestyle may occasionally face snide remarks, catcalling and prejudice, but at least we won’t be arrested by the state! I really hope those poor, brave young women are released..

Goth up your garden
Great article on creating a “Gothic Garden” by using black plants on My Green Lake:
“In fashion, gray may be the new black, but in gardening, black remains white-hot. Blue was the Holy Grail of plant breeders for generations, with the truest blues represented by famously finicky delphiniums and Welsh poppies (Meconopsis species).But to really get a gardener’s blood pumping, offer to sell him a black flower….”
